Usage & Applications
- Magnetic Incremental Permeability (MIP) measurements for material characterization.
- Frequency sweeps from 10 Hz to 1 MHz to evaluate incremental permeability indicators (μMIP, |Z|).
- Detection of case-hardening depth, residual stresses and early-stage corrosion in steels.
- Validation of FEM simulations (Onelab) against experimental impedance measurements.
Typical measurement campaign:
1. Calibrate the meter with open/short/load compensation. 2. Mount the specimen in the MIP sensing head. 3. Sweep frequency and record |Z|, R and L at fixed excitation. 4. Extract magnetic indicators and compare with Pearson correlation analysis.
