Workshop: Smart Agriculture Sensor Technologies
Hands-on workshop on sensor nodes for soil classification and pesticide level monitoring. Covers optical sensing with infrared, red and blue LEDs, photodiode detection, and optimal sensor geometry for agricultural field deployment.
Seminar: Advances in Energy Harvesting for Off-Grid Communities
Seminar covering ambient RF energy harvesting, microbial fuel cells from organic waste, and micro-hydro energy recovery from water distribution networks. Results presented include 353 mW/m² from cow dung MFCs and 192 mW recovered by the micro-hydro turbine prototype.
LEEC Open Day
Open day presenting material characterization and electromagnetic non-destructive testing and evaluation at LEEC. Demonstrations of the Printed Magnetic Needle Probe (PMNP), magnetic incremental permeability (MIP) and Barkhausen noise (MBN) measurements for piping, aeronautics and electrical machinery applications.
LEEC Inauguration Ceremony
Official inauguration of the Laboratory of Electrical Engineering and Computing (LEEC) at the University of Buea. The ribbon-cutting ceremony was attended by the Consul General of France in Douala, the Vice-Chancellor and the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering. Professor Pierre Tsafack presented the S-parameters measurement bench to the guests.
