Soil Classification Sensor Node

Optical sensor node (infrared, red, blue LEDs and photodiode) for soil classification and nutrient monitoring (Nitrogen, Phosphorus, Potassium).

Manufacturer

LEEC

Model

Soil Node

Location

LEEC Laboratory

Technical Specifications

  • Optical LED/photodiode, 60° optimal angle, 2-2.4 cm distance

Usage & Applications

  • Soil classification and nutrient monitoring (Nitrogen, Phosphorus, Potassium).
  • Optical sensing with infrared, red and blue LEDs and photodiode detection.
  • Optimal sensor geometry: 60° angle, 2–2.4 cm measuring distance.
  • Field deployment planning across large farmlands for calibration and validation.

Measurement procedure:

1. Place sensor over the soil sample at the optimal distance. 2. Emit infrared, red and blue optical radiation sequentially. 3. Record reflected voltage from the photodiode. 4. Correlate reflected voltage with soil nutrient content.
