A Cameroon-France partnership delivers a world-class research laboratory to UB

LEEC is built on a long-standing cooperation between the University of Buea and French institutions. Professor Pierre Brosselard of the Ampère laboratory at INSA de Lyon has been the focal point of relations with LEEC since 2013. The laboratory is supported by key institutional partners including INSA de Lyon, UCAC Douala, the LGEF laboratory and the French Cultural and Cooperation Action Service (SCAC). The cooperation covers research in electromagnetic non-destructive testing and evaluation, electrical energy harvesting, power electronics and energy management systems, as well as sensors and the Internet of Things. Joint teams from Buea and Lyon collaborate on magnetic material characterization, microbial fuel cells and smart agriculture sensor nodes.
